An arc flash study, also called an arc flash hazard analysis or arc flash risk assessment, is a study that identifies arc flash hazards, estimates the likelihood of severe injury, and guides the determination of additional protections needed for a given electrical system/installation as defined in NFPA 70E: Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace. We provide a complete arc-flash analysis and report which contains a labeling plan, site review, single line diagrams, mitigation services, personal protective equipment plan, and complete documentation of your electrical system.
Arc flash should be done contemporaneously with short circuit calculations and protective device coordination. Proper coordination ensures that if and when a breaker or fuse trip or blow the disruption is isolated with minimal downtime. We provide a study complied as a technical report that will outline any potential issues and provide a course of action required to resolve possible deficiencies within your electrical system.
